eagles ran through six inches of snow to beat detroit. our philadelphia station kyw is outside this morning in bryn mawr, pennsylvania. >> reporter: good morning, charlie, norah and gayle. we were only supposed to get a few inches of snow here yesterday, but we got that and more. a little bit of video here. you can see philadelphia was pounded with an early december storm. over 8 inches of snow fell in this area yesterday, and the accumulation proved to be a disaster for drivers. many found themselves stuck in the inclement weather. motorists in nearby morgantown were stranded on the pennsylvania turnpike for hours after a fatal accident led to a 50-car pileup. delays hit the philadelphia airport as well where 200 flights were canceled. at one point, a total ground stop was in effect and those delays are expected to affect today's travel plans. as for today, temperatures are expected to rise into the 40s, but this messy precipitation is expected to continue until late afternoon. charlie, norah, and gayle? >> jen, thank you. south africa i
